 Debarun Dutta

I am a policy and development communicator with over 15 years of experience working with non-profits in India and Germany. My work spans human rights, policy, communication, and art, focusing on creating meaningful impact through storytelling and advocacy.

I have extensive grassroots experience leading campaigns, delivering training, and managing projects in the human rights and media sectors. With a portfolio of over 50 documentary films on diverse social issues, I blend creative programming with strategic communication to drive change.

In 2022, I moved to Germany to pursue a Master’s in Public Policy at the Hertie School, Berlin. Since then, I have contributed to digitization initiatives with GIZ and collaborated with Fairwork Germany on labor rights advocacy. My current interests include migration, labor, digitization, and democracy. I am also working on a film highlighting the conditions of South Asian delivery workers in Berlin.
